I've had this blog since the start of my college experience and since then I've gone through plenty of changes, I noticed. For one, I'm not as pathetic now when it comes to high school related memories/nostalgia... I was reading back on those days and thinking, man, I was so sad. XD
Life's pretty good right now. There are times when I feel a lot of pressure coming from school and home, but I always manage to get back down to Earth—ironically enough by looking to the sky. Prayer relaxes me.
This past Saturday I had my capoeira batizado! Yayayayayyayyaaaa!
It was pretty interesting. I was nervous the entire time.
When the music started though, the pressure was brought down. I love capoeira, I really do.
I got baptised by Mestre Preguica! I feel so honored! Mestre Preguica!
He kicked me really really hard in the chest because I wouldn't fall down when he tripped me. XD Knocked the wind outta me! But I was blessed. It was awesome, he kept hugging me afterwards. My mom was kind of upset, but I was still happy. He's cool.
One thing about Vox that sort of bugs me is that you can't put in pictures and videos like you can on other sites... I mean, it's cool that they have special operations for it, but sometimes X-Large just isn't large enough (look at my previous post), or sometimes I just don't want a weird border around it. Oh well.
So, with the invite of me friend Anna, I joined a site called NuTang.
It's a blogging site kind of like Vox, except you get paid to blog.
Well... technically, you get paid 0.001USD for every visit you get, and once you get up to 20USD, they mail you a nice little check.
...that means 20,000 viewers to get up to that point, folks!
The task is daunting, but can be done.
No, I will not abandon Vox.
In terms of design and comfortable browsing, I like Vox better though. :]
OH GOD OH GOD, HEROES TOMORROW
Alright, so I redesigned this blog. I wish they had an option where you can like, choose things to go in the side tables aside from what comes standard... like links to places and stuff... that'd be cool. Not that Vox isn't already cool, but heyhey.
I made the banner myself. It's a part of a collage piece I did, I just cut+pasted it together... it's even got my signature there, so don't take it!
I'm also going to redesign my myspace. I've been saying this for a LONG TIME, and every single time, I learn a little HTML... then I get impatient and forget it all. Hurray? But yea, I'm gonna do this time. IMMA DO IT THIS TIME GUYS
I'm also going to learn how to speak Tagalog, at least well enough to get by in the Philippines since I'll be going there thiscoming December. That's plenty of time to learn, right? :D
Ah... there's really no point to this entry :P I'll head off now.
Teehee.
My cousin and sister have done this game on their Myspace blogs, and I thought it'd be cool to do it on Vox.
The game is you write messages to 31 people, but do not put their names.
As one would expect, it's up to the readers to guess who is who!
This also double-functions as therapy. Say what you want without facing drama, right? Righto!
1. Ah, what a way to start off the list! I really admire you for your social skills. You’re just so down with everybody, y’know? It’s awesome, and never awkward to have you around. You’re so great :D
2. What is your freaking problem? I honestly don’t know anybody who can hold a grudge for that long, but it’s ridiculous now. Maybe back then I was all sad about it, but now it’s ridiculous.
3. I guess the way you changed is ideal considering what time it was, but it was just so dramatic. I miss the old days in sophomore year when we’d all just be together, or the summer before junior year… yea.
4. You know I love you, but I worry about you so much. It seems like you can’t stand to be single for over a week, and people talk, and I don’t like it. I just hope you’re happy now, you’ve got a lot of drive. Use it well... i know you will.
5. Your voice is amazing. Some people think it’s creepy, but I think it’s incredible. If I ever met you, I wouldn’t know what I’d do. I’m so tempted to say I’d ask you to sing for me, but I’m far too shy for that. Who knows? Maybe!
6. I don’t know you that well, but the way you look kind of reminds me of the person listed above. You seem like a cool guy, joking around and whatnot.
7. You have an amazing voice. Not in the same way number five’s voice is amazing, but every time I hear it I am mesmerized and… yes. Too bad I’ll never get to meet you.
8. Sometimes it feels like you’re my best friend, and other times you feel so far away and distant. I have this lurking feeling that that’s how other people feel about you. I don’t doubt you though, because you’re a great thinker. Take your time, and I hope to be there when you open up. We all need a little soul-shine :]
9. Who do you think you are, my mother? “I’m always right,” pshaw! You are an astounding individual and I feel so lucky to have you as a friend! And so does the rest of the world. You take care also, y’hear?
10. Shikaku, shikaku!!
11. You seem so afraid of everything that it both worries and frustrates me. You have a heart of gold, and yet you afraid of everything! Chill out, mkay? The world really is sunshine and bunnies. “My anus is bleeding!” will never cease to be funny, however.
12. I don’t think you’re ready for the next thing life throws at you.
13. Glad the new budding career is going well for you, too bad we don't talk... or maybe it isn't so bad anyway.
14. I enjoy your company all the time, and wish we could hang out more! For we are always busy, just the way we like it. Maybe we should set aside allotted time each week for our projects. Unobstructed free time where it’s just you, me, and the computer. Sweet. I do believe you are my soul-brother (unused term before, honoes!)
15. I love you; you’re so silly when you get angry over the littlest things. I really do try not to laugh, but it’s just so funny! Aww, I’d give you a hug then but you’d hit me. Lighten up a bit! And kept doing what you’re doing, because you’re amazingly good at it, it’s almost scary. Almost.
16. You’re a little bit more pompous and brash nowadays, but that’s kind of an added bonus to the great person you already are. So nothing bad :D
17. I envy your responsibility and strength to hold your own and those around you. I’m glad you’re still here with me ^_^
18. Dude, you’re so random it was unexpected. You’ve certainly come out this past summer! And I don’t mean out of the closet. I hope. Ooh, she’d be mad with laughter.
19. I don’t know what goes on in that big head of yours, but whatever it is, I hope it doesn’t cause you to explode (as it has in the past). You seem very smart, so I won’t question further.
20. Every time I’m with you something funny happens XD I’m so glad to see you’ve “changed” (omg, dancing!) “because of me” :P Silly idea, but I’m flattered, nonetheless. I have a feeling that even when we’re in our 20’s and have jobs we’ll still have to scheme to get to hang out with each other. I love you!
21. You’re funny, sweet, boyish and big, and those are the reasons why everybody likes you. Can’t blame them! You feel like a little brother to me, and I sincerely hope that doesn’t change. Get low, get low!
22. Aww, I like you! You’re so cool and friendly and helpful, I can’t imagine you angry at all. Wait, yes I can… it looks kind of like a big can of whoop-ass, I believe.
23. Man, you've changed a lot since I last saw you! Big changes in appearance and lifestyle, but you know what? You're still the same person to me, and ah still luff yoo! X3
24. Some people don’t like you, and I don’t see why. You’re pretty cool to me. There is the constant whining dealie, but other than that, you’re a real social guy with all his priorities in order. I don’t see how anybody could hate that :D
25. You think you’re so romantic, don’t you! It outrages me that you would do something like you did, because it’s superiorly stupid, even for you! Why do you think you have to lie to get people to like you? We already hate you for who you really are, you don’t have to add to it.
26. We still need to do that art trade.
27. Hehe, jumping Jacks.
28. Ah, almost to the end. I like you, keep on dreaming, because that’s what makes you so interesting.
29. I find it amazing that we’ve been friends this long. I refuse to drift apart! You will always hold this special place in my life and heart that I’ll never ever forget. I swear I will hunt you down if you do <3
30. Hey sista, soul sista, flow sista… is that how it went? I forgot. But hey, you really are my soul sister, and I think it’ll stay that way. May our lives forever act parallel, and may our brains forever be joined at the wavelength!
31. Last but not least, you! Everything about you is just so suave, from the way you carry yourself to your essays and even the way you stutter, believe it or not. I refuse to lose contact with you, and even if I did, we’d catch up again and it’d be good times. See you at the presidential campaign 20 years from now!
Vox isn't the first blog I've had.
The first blog I ever had was a livejournal, and I had that when I was an 8th grade emogothicOMGPLZLABELMEPLZ brat who had more online friends than real life friends. :P
Then I had a Xanga then a MySpace blog, and I noticed a difference in the way I blog in each site.
When I used to blog in my Xanga (yea, I don't do it much anymore), I'd mostly write in it like a journal: things that happened, and I'd throw in a bunch of online quizzes and surveys. The occasional "deep-thought", too. So for the most part, it was for myself, but as I gained more readers, my style in writing change and I wrote to entertain my audience, or at least to retain their attention, secretly hoping for a few precious comments and eProps. Although I don't like admitting it, that's basically how I blog on MySpace. C'mon, you can't deny that it's the most popular social networking site out there... we love it so much because we get to show who we are to everybody and why we're so awesome in ways we can't do in a first physical impression. So it's entirely people-based, and that's how I blog there: I do it for the other people, hoping they'll be at least mildly interested in what I have to say.
I know it sounds desperate for attention, and in an odd and raw way, it is. We all crave attention, don't fight it.
As desperate as it sounds, it's got upsides.
All the attention opens many opportunities for reader-blogger interaction, an activity in which I frequently engage! ^_^ I can ask for opinions, put up surveys, polls, recommendations etc. and get to see what other people think! It's really cool, and if you didn't already know, I like people and and thoughts and everything about them. *nod nod*
So yea. I blog for myself here, or kinda for an invisible audience that actually cares. [/emo] kidding, kidding! I like Vox. I feel more open to just... whuteva! Nobody's watching me, nobody will care how many posts I make in a day or what I talk about, yea...
which is funny coz I will eventually invite people in and show them my stuff yea. But just the ones who I think will care :P
Aiiii, now I remember why I don't "blog seriously" anymore... I never know how to properly construct my words, I'm always jumbling my thoughts up and going off on tangents and nothing connects NOTHING CONNECTS, MAN.
Righto, well, I'm off like a prom dress.
[/highschoolhumor!]
